And how do you PRONOUNCE it?
The Kihei/Wailea area is centrally located on the south west side of Maui. It is approximately a 25 min. drive from the Kahului Airport and a 35 min. drive to Lahaina.
The area is the on the “dry” side of the island, averaging about 13 inches of rain per year and boasts many first class resorts/condos, golf courses, restaurants, and beaches.
If you'll be staying in this area, you'll probably want to consider a boat that departs from Ma'alaea Harbor. Incidentally, Ma'alaea is correctly pronounced with four syllables:
"Mah - ah - LIE - ah"
but most people chop off the second "ah".
